Pyarege Hogbitayate (There is no love) between producer Suresh and actor Komal of the film, 'Govindaya Namaha'. Apparently the lead actor of the film was gearing up to celebrate the 100th day success, which falls on July 5. But he was in for a shock when he heard that the film was getting telecasted in one of the private channels on June 30.

This was immediately brought to the notice of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, which has stated in their guidelines that a film cannot be telecast on television if it has been running for 100 days. Suresh, producer of the film seems to have violated the rules of the Film Cchamber by allowing the film to be telecast.

"Today, a film running for 100 days is itself a big thing. Upon that you have six to seven crores profit from the film 'Govindaya Namaha'. This can also go as a repeater even after one or two years as everyone knows that it will definitely run well again. Apart from this, the film still has distributors across all seven areas. In spite of all this, producer Suresh has gone and sold purely out of selfishness. It will only affect the industry because people will stop going to theatres to watch a good film, when they know that it will be soon out on small screen within few months of its release," asserted Komal.

Though Komal has sold the film, he stood for the other distributors who are still holding the rights. "The producer sold the telecast rights of 'Govindaya Namaha' for mere 7 to 10 lakhs. But other distributors who have bought the film paying 10 to 20 lakhs, will lose their house and property if the film is telecast on the small screen. In the end I didn't want to be blamed and distributors should not feel I am not bothered since I have already sold the film. I went and complained to the chamber only because of them. It is a responsibility from my side as I am also a distributor," he said.

Komal was not aware of the development when he was promoting the film. "My intention was to talk about the film's success on completing 100 days. I was not aware about the producer's intentions. I gladly went ahead and promoted the film on every channel. Only later did I realise that the film will be soon coming out on a private channel. That’s when I objected," he clarified.

Finally justice prevailed and the KFCC has taken the decision not to telecast the film. "I took the step because else there will be no ethics if such cases are repeated. Distributors will back out when they realise that the film will get released on TV within two months after its release," said Komal.

Apparently, the chamber has also filed a case against the producer. "We learnt that Suresh had given an affidavit on a Rs 200 bond paper that he will not release the film till one year of its release. But then he went against the rules. A stay order has been personally sent to the channel which took the telecast rights," reveals Komal.
