Kerala submits 10 point development agenda to PM
The Kerala government submitted a 10-point agenda on development to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Wednesday night.

Kochi: The Kerala government submitted a 10-point agenda on development to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Wednesday night.

Singh, who arrived here on Tuesday on a two-day state visit, met Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and state ministers at around 8 PM to discuss various issues relating to Kerala.

Industries minister PK Kunhalikutty and Finance Minister KM Mani later told reporters the Prime Minister had agreed to favourably consider the development agenda put forth by the state.

Union ministers from Kerala - AK Antony and KV Thomas, Prime Minister's Advisor TKA Nair and State Planning Board member KM Chandrasekhar were among those present.

The ministers also apprised Singh about the state's long pending demand and delay in getting central clearance for various projects.

All state ministers were present at the 20 minute meeting.

Earlier, the Prime Minister released Finance Minister KM Mani's book 'Beyond Communism: The theory of Toiling class'.

Central University of Kerala Vice-Chancellor Jancey James, Cardinal Mar George Alanchery, four cadets of the Student Police and students from the National Institute of Speech and hearing met the Prime Minister.
