KR Manoj: Jury's politics reflect in film selection
Manoj's debut film has not been selected for the competition section of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).

Thiruvananthapuram: Director K R Manoj, whose film 'Kanyaka Talkies' has been chosen as the inaugural film of the Indian Panorama at 44th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, says general awareness and 'politics' of a jury reflects in the selection of films in festivals.

Manoj's debut film has not been selected for the competition section of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) to be held here in December. Manoj said he would not question the decision of any jury as it is based on the views of its members.

"May be my film was a bit different from their notions on cinema," he said.

He said it was a great honour for his debut film to be the inaugural movie of the Indian Panorama of the IFFI. The director had earlier done a documentary 'Pestering Journey' on the plight of endosulfan victims.
