KOCHI: Coming to the rescue of Gopi Kottamurickal, senior CPM leader M M Lawrence on Wednesday lashed out at the hidden camera technique used to remove Kottamurickal from the post of CPM Ernakulam district secretary.
"If any party member has come across any mistake committed by the district secretary, he should have been given a chance to correct it. Or if needed, he can report it within the party unit so that the party can take a decision accordingly. But trying to collect evidence against a district secretary through a hidden camera is against the party. Instead of doing that he should have reported it within the party unit," Lawrence said.Lawrence further pointed out that the hidden camera technique was employed in such a manner which gives an impression that they were covering up some top secret. Going one step further Lawrence said that the inquiry into the Kottamurickal incident would cover all aspects of the incident including the hidden camera issue. "I believe a comprehensive inquiry would be carried out covering all aspects of the issue," he said. ENS
