Chief Minister Raman Singh's son Abhishek Singh became the youngest parliamentarian in the state after winning Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat with a record margin of 2.35 lakh.

Abhishek's winning margin is almost eight times higher than his father's who contested from the same seat in 1999 and won with a margin of 26,715.

A poll analysis says seven out of 10 candidates in Chhattisgarh won with a margin of over 1 lakh votes.

The candidates ate: Vishnu Deo Sai (Raigarh), Lakhan Lal Sahu (1.76 lakh) from Bilaspur, Kamla Patle (1.74 lakh) from Janjgir-Champa, Ramesh Bais (1.71 lakh) from Raipur, Kamalbhan Singh Maravi (1.47 lakh) from Surguja and Dinesh Kashyap (1.24 lakh) from Bastar.

In contrast to the margin victory figures, BJP's Chandan Lal Sahu won with the least margin of 1,217 votes against Congress' Ajit Jogi.
