HYDERABAD: The south west monsoon has ditched the farmers once again. There was rain in several districts in the state only for the last two days, which was not sufficient for the farmers. The monsoon which should have triggered rains from the beginning of June, had so far not induced enough rain. The only solace is the formation of upper air circulation which has been causing rainfall in coastal Andhra and Telangana districts.According to disaster management department officials, the state had so far received 19 per cent less than the normal rainfall. The normal rainfall is 178.1 mm but it has received only 144.5 mm.  Though more than one and a half months had passed since the monsoon had set in, there is not much rain in several parts of the state except Krishna district which recorded 38 per cent excess rainfall till date. The normal rainfall in Krishna is 174 mm but it had received 240 mm. In rest of the districts, there is either deficit or normal rainfall.According to commissioner for disaster management T Radha, 10 districts received less rainfall while 12 districts had normal rainfall. The districts where the rainfall was less include: Adilabad, Karimnagar, East Godavari, Medak, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Mahaboobnagar, Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur.  Those that received normal rainfall were: Srikakulam, Nizamabad, Khammam, Warangal, West Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Nalgonda, Guntur, Chittoor, Nellore and Prakasam.Coastal Andhra districts received one per cent less (164 mm) than the normal rainfall (166 mm) while  Telangana region received only 162 mm rainfall when the normal rainfall should be 214 mm. Rayalseema districts received 76 mm as against normal rainfall of 111 mm.
