On Tuesday, he said that these new Army Battalions would facilitate the intake of over 20,000 cadets within the next five years. "This process shall be executed in a phase by phase manner", he shared and added that they would come up in Chitradurga, Haveri, North Bangalore, Ramnagaram, Mandya, Koppala and Chikkaballapur. Sharing the infrastructure facilities for the new set up, Deshpande said that the Revenue Department of the state government had instructed concerned District Commissioners (DC) to identify prospective land for this use.

"By increasing the number of battalions, we would like to improve visibility and encourage more students to join the NCC", he shared. Adding that there were more than 400 educational institutions in queue to be registered, Deshpande said that there were a total 835 institutions across the state. "There are 73,820 and Goa Directorate, and the additional 20,000 cadets enrollment will be completed within the next five years", he said.
