NELLORE: Alleging that both prime minister Manmohan Singh and home minister P Chidambaram were involved in the multi-crore 2G scam, BJP state spokesperson Bhanu Prakash Reddy demanded their prosecution. Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, he said that if both of them were really innocent, then they should have themselves asked for a CBI inquiry into their role in the issue. Stating that his party had taken stern action against BS Yeddyurappa by dislodging him from the chief ministers post after he was found guilty by Lokayukta in the iron ore export scam, he questioned why the UPA had not taken the same action against the Delhi chief minister Sheila Dekshit who was allegedly involved in the corruption in Common Wealth Games. He predicted that the days of the Congress government both at the Centre and in the state are numbered. He added that the farmers in the state are facing a pathetic situation as the government has failed to provide minimum support price (MSP) for their produce and demanded chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to release a white paper on the welfare schemes he implemented after taking charge.Speaking on the occasion, BJP district president K Anjaneya Reddy said that BJP senior leader LK Advani would be visiting Nellore on August 21 to take part in the party functionaries meeting which will be held at Kasturi Devi High School. About 5,000 party functionaries will be attending.
