BJP president Rajnath Singh, who won the just-concluded Lok Sabha polls from the prestigious Lucknow seat, has constituted a committee to study problems relating to infrastructure in the constituency and suggest ways and means to overcome them.

The committee, led by retired IAS officer Diwakar Tripathi, will submit its report to Singh by August 15.

When contacted, Tripathi said that as of now he has been assigned the task to prepare a report for proper development of the Uttar Pradesh state capital, keeping in mind infrastructural requirements like power, roads, water and sewer for the coming ten years.

Tripathi, who had held important positions like vice chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority, said retired officials who had been associated with development of the city in the past ten years would be included in the committee.

It might be mentioned that Tripathi had also been associated with Lucknow's development when former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had represented the constituency.
