HYDERABAD: National Thermal Power Corporation’s regional executive director (south) R.Venkateswaran unfurled the national flag at the company’s southern region’s headquarters at Secunderabad here on Thursday on the occasion of the country’s 63rd Republic Day. Addressing the employees, he said the first stage of NTPC’s Kudgi super thermal power project (3x800 MW) received environmental clearance from the ministry of environment & forests. He called for expeditious efforts to complete all the works of Unit-IV ( 500 MW) of Simhadri Stage-II and commission the unit. “We should gear up to arrange adequate coal stocks for our stations in order to meet the increasing demand for power in the coming months,” he added.Venkateswaran distributed tricycles and wheel-chairs to 63 differently-abled persons belonging to Keesara, Shamirpet, Qutbullapur, Rajendra Nagar and Saroornagar as part of the corporation’s corporate social responsibility and community development activities.
