CHENNAI: The Thai Poosam float festival of Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore, is scheduled to be held between 7 pm and 10 pm from February 7 to 9.Hence, the Greater Chennai Traffic police have announced diversions on these days in the afternoon near the temple.Vehicles will not be allowed towards the temple at the following junctions on those days from 7 pm to 10 pm. Luz Junction towards R K Mutt Road; Kutchery Road towards Mathalanarayanan Street; Dr Ranga Road towards Venkatesa Agraharam Road; St Mary’s Road towards R K Mutt Road; East Chithrakulam Street towards North Chithrakulam Street; Mandaveli Street towards Adam Street; TSV Koil Street and West Chitrakulam Street.Vehicles (including MTC buses) coming from Royapettah High Road and Kutchery Road direction, intending to proceed towards Mandaveli and R.K. Mutt Road, will take the route via Luz Junction, Luz Church Road, D’ Silva Road, Ranga Road, CP Ramasamy Road, VK Iyer Road to reach Mandaveli Junction.Vehicles (including MTC buses) coming from Adyar direction, intending to proceed towards Royapettah and Luz Junction, will take the route via Mandaveli, V.K.Iyer Road, Sringeri Mutt Road, Warren Road, Dr. Ranga Road, East Abiramapuram Ist Main Road, Luz Avenue, Luz Church Road, Karpagamabal Nagar, Vivekananda College - P.S. Sivasamy Salai, Royapettah High Road to reach their destination.The bus terminus near Mylapore tank will operate from Luz Church road near Amrutanjan company. Parking arrangements have been made for the vehicles coming for the float festival.Vehicles coming from South will be parked in P.S. Higher Secondary School Play Ground, R K Mutt Road. Vehicles coming from East and North to Mylapore Tank will be allowed to park on Luz Church Road Southern Side i.e., just opposite to Kamadenu kalyanamandapam (Theatre).Vehicles coming from western side will be allowed to park on Venkatesa Agaragharam road under the flyover of MRTS near Saibaba Temple.
