KOCHI: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) national delegates’ meet and international conference will begin here on Friday. Religious and community leaders along with saints will be taking part in the three-day conference that will be held at Pavakulam temple premises here, which is the headquarters of the state VHP. It is for the first time that the VHP international board meeting is being held in the city. VHP international president Ashok Singhal will inaugurate the conference. VHP secretary general Praveen Togadia, working president S Vedantam, organising secretary Dinesh Chandra are among others who who would be present. As many as 350 delegates are expected to take part in the meeting. VHP international leaders, delegates from 13 other countries, board of trustees and officials from other states are also attending the conference. After the three-day conference, the central core team will again meet the next day for finalising the future plans. Singhal and Togadia will be addressing a public meeting at Marine Drive on December 17. Apart from organisational issues, the delegates’ meet will discuss the security of girls in the state, killing of cows and stopping conversion. Lack of moral values in the education system and steps to be taken to protect scriptures are topics that would be considered.
