The second day of the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2017 witnessed the likes of Samant Chauhan, Rina Dhaka, Anupama Dayal, Hemant and Nandita, Vineet Bahl and Pankaj & Nidhi present their collections.

The designer duo Hemant & Nandita, who showcased their collection titled ‘Dynamism’ believes that it’s always “all about a strong yet soft energy”.

“We are inspired by the power femininity beholds. The same has been depicted by bold silhouettes in metallic and floral prints,” they said while speaking to News18.com.

Their collection spanned from over coats, dresses and body hugging ensembles exploring the subtle colour pallet of pastel hues. "When we talk about feminism, we think about soft fabrics and frills but when we were thinking about this collection, we did a lot of research."

The two are happily batting for PM Modi’s ‘Made In India’ campaign and are of the view that “it needs support in all its entirety to be a success.”

“We love the Made in India campaign and constantly try to promote it at our level. This definitely promotes Indian artisans and weavers,” they added.

When asked if Bollywood is the key factor in deciding a modern woman’s wardrobe, as designers they feel, they create and celebrities wear. “According to the forecast, different designers work on different stories but what gets popular in the masses is the easy and comfortable silhouettes which can work for everybody.”

The two are enthusiastic about Indian designers etching a mark on global platform and credit International buyers for being more acceptable of Indian ethos. “With more and more international buyers to the kitty and the world fashion being more open to Indian ethics in fashion, we think fresher avenues are opening up.”

Their collection, resonating with a modern feminist’s ideology, struck the right chords with the audience.
