Casting Director Kelly Valentine Hendry On Unsolicited Audition Attempts: 'I Get The Most Unbelievable Videos'

Bridgerton casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry recently got candid about the explicit videos she has been receiving from aspiring actors. During the conversation, she even admitted to removing messages from her inbox regularly, highlighting the influx of unsolicited fan auditions. Divulging more details, the casting director shared that fans are flooding her mailbox with “unbelievable videos” to land a role in the upcoming.

Speaking to the host of the podcast “Should I Delete That?” last week, Kelly Valentine Hendry claimed that her inbox is filled with explicit audition videos, describing some as almost sex tapes. She mentioned, “It’s every day … I get the most unbelievable videos, unsolicited.” Adding further, she said, “It’s not nudie pictures, but it’s not far off.”

Kelly Valentine Hendry, in the same interaction, shared that most of these audition tapes are from the actors who want to play Sophie Beckett in the upcoming season. However, the character hasn’t been officially confirmed for the series. When asked to highlight any of the unusual submissions, Kelly recalled receiving a video that featured a large banner of a woman in a period costume. She described it as “heavy-duty” and big enough to hang off “scaffolding.”

The renewal announcement of Bridgerton for both a third and fourth season came in April 2021. Notably, the third season of Bridgerton recently premiered on Netflix, delving into the evolving relationship between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton. The lead characters were played by Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton respectively.

Speaking of the show’s fourth season, details around the same have been kept under wraps. However, author Julia Quinn previously confirmed to PEOPLE that preparations were underway for the much-awaited fourth season. Meanwhile, the team is yet to decide which Bridgerton family member’s romantic journey will be displayed in the upcoming show.

As per actress Nicola Coughlan, she will be reprising her role in the upcoming season 4 of Bridgerton alongside Luke Newton’s Colin. Speaking to TheWrap, Nicola expressed her excitement saying, “They’ve told us we’re back for season 4, which is super lovely … It’ll be exciting. (We shall) pop back and have some fun for sure.”
