Jibraan Khan Clarifies He Did NOT Audition For Tiger Shroff's Role In SOTY 2: 'I Was Never Going For...'
Jibraan Khan said that he had auditioned for Aditya Seal's part, not Tiger Shroff's role.

Jibraan Khan is winning hearts as Sahir in the latest film, Ishq Vishk Rebound. This marks his first Bollywood film, following his debut as a child actor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, where he played the son of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. He recently revealed that before Ishq Vishk Rebound, Jibraan auditioned for a role in one of Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2. While many assumed that Jibraan auditioned for Tiger Shroff’s role, that was not the case.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Jibraan said, “It was one of the auditions that did happen, and somebody asked (is it) Student Of The Year? And I said yeah, one of them. But I was never going for Tiger’s part in that, and I don’t know why people are saying that.” The actor added, “I never meant it that way. I was never auditioning for his role. It was always Tiger Shroff’s film. I think it was for (actor) Aditya Seal’s role and rightly so, I used to look younger than them three-four years ago.”

“What I faced was that I looked very kiddish, which was not working a few years ago and now suddenly there is a demand for looking young again. If you see my Instagram from a few years ago, I have a beard in every picture because that was the demand, I had to look older because somewhere people wanted me to be in the Varun Dhawan league. But suddenly there is this whole vibe now where they want you to look younger. So, I am now constantly in the middle of that. I don’t know where I stand now,” he said.

In a previous conversation with the Free Press Journal, Jibraan Khan stated that the question of his debut as an adult had been around for the past 5-6 years. He shared that the journey had not been easy, emphasising that he waited to select the right project to start his career. He added that he didn’t passively hope for opportunities to come his way. Instead, he aggressively pursued work by contacting directors and producers, never hesitating to request auditions. Jibraan said, “I did audition for Student of The Year 2 but it didn’t work out as I looked younger than Tiger Shroff.” The actor believes that the role of Sahir in Ishq Vishk Rebound was destined to be his.

Apart from Jibraan Khan, Ishq Vishk Rebound also stars Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, and Naila Grewal. The film is directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari and is produced by Ramesh Taurani under the banner Tips Films Limited.
