Mickey Dhamejani, who once played a young Hrithik Roshan in the 2006 superhero film Krrish, has made a remarkable career transition from acting to medicine. Now an eye surgeon, Mickey recently shared a nostalgic Instagram post from his clinic, jokingly captioned, “Guess you’ve seen me before?” This post quickly went viral on social media, reminding fans of his childhood role as Krishna Mehra. Interestingly, Mickey is now in talks for a Bollywood project and has said in a chat with Hindustan Times that a possible return to the film industry alongside his medical career is on the cards.
“It feels nice to be in the limelight yet again. The intention, however, was never to go viral; things happened organically. Yes, I am open to opportunities in Bollywood and Hollywood. In fact, I am in talks for a Bollywood project. However, my family and I will decide together (if and what to take up),” he told HT.
Recalling fond memories from the sets of Koi… Mil Gaya and Krrish, Mickey shared that Hrithik once invited him to his house to teach him hand movements and body language so as to ensure he looked like an authentic younger version of the actor in the film. “I remember a drive from Chandigarh to Manali. I was sitting in the same car with Hrithik. During those days, my results were announced, and he had gifted me and my sister bounty chocolates. He even invited me to his house and coached me, teaching me his hand movements and body language since I portrayed a young version of him in the film,” he remembered.
Mickey said that he wants to channelise the opportunities for “greater good.” “I would like to be part of a Karan Johar or Yash Raj project. But the purpose is not just to become a mainstream movie star. I am after all, an ophthalmologist. I would want to channelise whatever opportunities come my way, for greater good of society,” he said.
