Kriti Sanon Auditioned With 10 Actors Before Selecting Shaheer Sheikh For Do Patti: 'The Chemistry Was...'

At the trailer launch of Do Patti, Kriti Sanon, alongside Kajol, Kanika Dhillon, and Shaheer Sheikh, made a striking appearance. Writer Kanika Dhillon shared an anecdote about the casting process. She revealed how, when auditioning for the role of Dhruv, Kriti, who has also produced the film, personally auditioned with the last 10 candidates to ensure the perfect fit. The role ultimately went to Shaheer Sheikh, chosen for his ability to portray the character’s complexities and his strong on-screen chemistry with Kriti.

Kanika recalled, “Just an example of how hands-on Kriti was. Kriti’s like, ‘Last 10 rounds, I’ll audition with 10 people’. And those last 10 people left, Kriti herself went and auditioned with each of those 10 candidates, did that scene over and over. Adhe toh ghabra gaye ke Kriti audition karne ayi hai!” To this, Kriti said, “To be honest, I think it was so important to find the current Dhruv. You know, because again, the character has so many layers. And the chemistry has to work in a certain way. So, I was glad that we did the audition. I think while I was doing the audition only with him, I felt in my head when we were seeing that the chemistry was working, also the shades of group that he has. I think he was pulling it off so well.”

Starring Kajol and Kriti Sanon, Do Patti is one of the most anticipated releases of this year. The movie pairs two of the most talented actresses in a thriller.
