Actress Nitanshi Goel, who played Phool Kumari in the hit film Laapataa Ladies, has been nominated under the Best Actress category for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Nitanshi is on the list as a nominee with prominent actors like Alia Bhatt, Sanya Malhotra, and Jyothika. She was just 16 when her film was released at the cinema halls on March 1, 2024. Nitanshi is overwhelmed by this accomplishment and talks about it in an interview with a portal. She said, ”Being nominated alongside such incredible talents is an honour. I am grateful for the opportunity to bring Phool to life and thrilled to see our work recognised on this platform.”
One of the most critically acclaimed filmmakers, Kiran Rao, had directed Laapataa Ladies. Biplab Goswami, Divyanidhi Sharma and Sneha Desai are associated with the film as writers. Besides Nitanshi, this film starred Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, Ravi Kishan and others in important roles. The film opened to positive reviews upon its release and garnered accolades for its storyline, acting, direction and other aspects. Till May, this film grossed over Rs 24 crore in India, and more than Rs 25 crore globally.
