Fans of One Tree Hill are in for a treat as the series is set to make a comeback on Netflix. The reboot will bring back original stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton, who will reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, while also serving as executive producers. Picking up 20 years after the original series ended, the new show will follow Brooke and Peyton as they navigate the challenges of raising their teenage children. While Danneel Ackles and Bevin Prince are confirmed to return, Chad Michael Murray, who played Lucas Scott, won’t be joining the sequel.
According to reports, other original cast members like James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Austin Nichols, Antwon Tanner, and Paul Johansson are also expected to return for the new One Tree Hill series. However, official confirmations are still pending. Additionally, there’s no information available yet on why Chad Michael Murray isn’t interested in reprising his iconic role as Lucas Scott.
Meanwhile, confirming the One Tree Hill reboot, Sophia Bush, taking to her Instagram, shared pictures with co-stars Hilarie Burton, Danneel Ackles and Bevin Prince. She wrote, “What if you really can go back home? If there’s an opportunity to team with brilliant creatives and build a space where all our friends can show off their talents? Own our history? Reclaim our turf? Honor our fans? Sign us up. There’s only one Tree Hill, after all. And you — the #OTHfam — have shown us that it’s not just an idea. It really is the place where “everything’s better and everything’s safe.”

Back in November 2023, One Tree Hill stars Matt Barr, Hilarie Burton, Kevin Kilner, Bevin Prince, Michael Trucco, Austin Nichols, Sophia Bush, Daphne Zuniga, Danneel Ackles and Stephen Colletti, had a delightful reunion. The team gathered for the 20th-anniversary celebration thrown by FWB Charity Events.
Interestingly, Sophia, Hilarie and Bethany Joy Lenz previously hosted the One Tree Hill rewatch podcast, Drama Queens. However, Hilarie left the podcast after season 6 when her character exited the show. Since then, Robert Buckley, who joined the series in season 7, has taken over as the third host.
