Prince William couldn't stop himself from grooving at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in London.

Prince William kicked off his birthday celebrations in style by showing off his dance moves to Taylor Swift’s catchy hit, ‘Shake It Off,’ at the opening night of the Eras Tour in London. The 42-year-old royal was spotted enjoying the sold-out Friday concert at Wembley Stadium in the company of his two oldest children, 10-year-old Prince George and 9-year-old Princess Charlotte.

The Prince of Wales was captured on video appearing to be in high spirits as he danced energetically to Taylor Swift’s performance of ‘Shake It Off’ during the four-hour set. Online videos of the royal’s dance moves quickly circulated, showcasing his enthusiasm for the hit song. Adding to the excitement, the royal trio took a selfie with Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, which later made its way to the singer’s Instagram account. Prior to the concert, in a delightful gesture, the royal guard band entertained the crowd with a rendition of ‘Shake It Off’ in front of Buckingham Palace as a warm welcome for the 34-year-old pop star’s arrival in London.

William has had some memorable encounters with the talented musician in the past. Back in 2013, a special moment unfolded when William, together with Swift and Jon Bon Jovi, took the stage to deliver an unforgettable rendition of ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ at a Centrepoint charity event held at Kensington Palace.

Reflecting on this star-studded experience in a recent episode of Apple Fitness+’s Time to Walk series in 2021, William shared, “I went to a charity fundraising gala for Centrepoint, which is a young homeless charity that I am very fond of and have supported for many years. It’s an annual fundraiser, and I turn up, and Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift are at the event, which nearly knocked me off my feet as well.”

Recalling the moment when he thought his evening couldn’t get any better after watching Bon Jovi perform, William expressed, “When I sat down to watch Jon Bon Jovi do his performance, I thought, ‘That’s it. My job is done. I’ll get a dinner in a minute, and I might be able to have a chat to some people, and, you know, I’m off-duty a little bit now.’ Little did I think what was going to happen next.”

Seated beside Taylor Swift, with her on his left, William described the unexpected turn of events, saying, “She’s on my left. And after Jon does his first song, there’s a pause and she turns to me. She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye, and says, ‘Come on, William. Let’s go and sing.’”

Prince William and his children’s fun evening at the Eras Tour happened just days after their attendance at the Trooping the Color festivities, a significant event commemorating King Charles III’s traditional birthday celebration. The gathering also marked the first official public appearance for Kate, the Princess of Wales, since Christmas Day 2023.

Amidst this busy schedule of royal events, it’s important to note that the devoted mother of three is courageously navigating a personal health journey. Following an abdominal surgery earlier this year, Kate is currently undergoing a round of “preventative” chemotherapy, showcasing her resilience and determination in the face of challenges.
