Television actor Raj Anadkat has finally revealed why he left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Raj used to play Dilip Joshi’s son Tappu and was a part of the show for five years. However, he announced his departure from TMKOC in December 2022. On Thursday, Raj uploaded a video on his YouTube channel in which in answered several of his fans’ questions. When a social media user asked the reason behind leaving Asit Kumarr Modi’s show, Raj revealed that he took the decision because he wanted to explore more as an actor.

“I did this show for five years and I did over 1,000 episodes for the show. This journey was very beautiful for me. But as an actor, I wanted to grow more in this field. I wanted to explore different characters. I took this decision and I am thankful to god for this opportunity. Thanks to all of you for accepting me as Tappu. Sometimes you have to make such decisions in life. It is a part and parcel of your life,” Raj said.

Answering another question, Raj called working for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah a “wonderful” experience and added, “If I have to describe my TMKOC experience in one word, I would call it wonderful, mind-blowing, amazing. I learnt a lot from this show. There were several ups and downs. We laughed, cried and had fun. My first international trip was also because of this show. We went to Singapore for a shoot.”

In March this year, News18 Showsha exclusively reported that Raj Anadkat is engaged to his TMKOC co-star Munmun Dutta aka Babita Ji. Munmun, 36, and Raj, 27, exchanged rings in the presence of their respective families, the source informed us. The insider further revealed that the two actors got engaged in a low-key ceremony outside Mumbai.

However, Raj later took to his Instagram stories and called the engagement report false. “Hello everyone. Just to clear things up, the news you’ve been seeing on social media is false & baseless,” he wrote.
