Actress Saiyami Kher is set to headline director Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming film, if rumours are to be believed. The project is an author-backed role exploring a woman-oriented subject, is all set to captivate audiences and is scheduled to be a Netflix Original.
Director Neeraj Pandey cast Saiyami Kher for the pivotal role following her noteworthy performance in Ghoomer. Their successful partnership in the hit series Special Ops has paved the way for their reunion in the upcoming season, creating a lot of buzz among fans.
According to sources, “The film will begin shooting from 15 February, the production team gears up for a 30-day shooting schedule, ensuring the film’s timely completion and delivery of a high-quality cinematic masterpiece. They are planning to shoot the entire film in one go. There will be no break. It will be a Netflix original.”
Not long back, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Saiyami shared her thoughts on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal that received polarising reviews. She said that while she admires Ranbir Kapoor’s work in films like Rockstar and Barfi, considering him “the best in the country,” she wouldn’t choose to revisit Animal. “Personally, for me, I have been told very strongly do not tell your opinions, because nobody wants to hear that. But I was very triggered, very disturbed. Every director has the right to make everything that one wants, but somewhere, you have a responsibility towards people. Cinema has the power to influence people and I truly believe that, in the good and in the bad way.”
Saiyami mentioned that while she understands that cinema may portray “dark and negative characters,” she believes in drawing a line when it comes to glorifying them. “I personally don’t agree with the phenomenon of glorifying somebody who is a dark and bad character. With great power comes great responsibility, so I would consider that when working,” she had said.
