"Canada is a great country, one where a guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums," Canadian PM Justin Trudeau said.

Diljit Dosanjh is truly touching new heights of stardom. Winning hearts across the world, the Punjabi singer recently took to the stage at the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto, Ontario. Ahead of his concert as a part of his Dil-Luminati Tour, Diljit had a special guest at the concert— Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Yes, you read that right. PM Justin Trudeau joined the singer and expressed his best wishes. Quite delighted to meet the Canadian PM, Diljit Dosanjh shared a hug and even greeted him with folded hands.

In an Instagram video, the Canadian Prime Minister enters the venue and ascends the stage to meet Diljit. As the PM goes on to interact with everyone, including his crew members, the team also makes him cheer the singer’s trademark line, “Punjabi aa gaye oye.”

“Diversity is Canada‘s strength. Prime Minister @justinpjtrudeau came to check out history in the making: we sold out the Rogers Centre!” Diljit wrote on his Instagram with the video.

Before that, Justin Trudeau also shared glimpses of his event visit, showing his interaction with Diljit and his team. “Stopped by the Rogers Centre to wish @diljitdosanjh good luck before his show. Canada is a great country — one where a guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums. Diversity isn’t just our strength. It’s a super power,” he wrote.

Fans largely took to the comment section and celebrated the singer’s latest breakthrough. After making history at Coachella, followed by his recent stint on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the singer-actor seems to be on the right path towards global dominance.

On the work front, Diljit Dosanjh was recently seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila alongside Parineeti Chopra. The film got a positive response and appreciation for his portrayal of the late singer. Besides, he also had a worldwide release of his Punjabi rom-com, Jatt & Juliet 3. Starring opposite Neeru Bajwa, the film is nearing a gross collection of Rs 100 crore globally, depending upon its performance in the coming days.
