South Korean boyband Astro member Cha Eun-woo released his much-anticipated solo debut mini album titled Entity on February 15. Consisting of five songs — Stay, U&I, F***ing Great Time, Where Am I, and You’re the Best, the title track was dropped on the same date. Although Cha Eun-woo did not make the disclosure, his latest album bears a strong reflection of his friendship with late Astro member Moonbin, who passed away in 2023. Now, Cha Eun-woo has unveiled another music video from the 5-track list, titled Where Am I. The side track was released on February 19.
The music video captures Cha Eun-woo in a distressed mood, entrapped in a bubble of memories. Dejected and lost, he stands amidst a bustling street. Passerbys cross by him, busy with their endeavours but the K-pop idol seems to be unbothered about everything happening around him. The constant audial effects in the background featuring water dripping from somewhere signals an ocean of despair. Cha Eun-woo is engulfed in a never-ending sadness as he rests on a couch surrounded by water everywhere. He allows the water to pull him down, indicating that he is drowning in his own emotions.
An emptiness appears to have gripped Cha Eun-woo as he is bogged down by feelings of losing someone, he once held dear. Now, he is haunted by the ghost of that person with no hope of their return. The singer continues to float beneath the water, his eyes closed as the looming darkness refuses to leave his side. The gloomy visuals coupled with a sense of never-ending longing and the overwhelming lyrics make Where Am I a brilliant listen. Although it is not evident, it looks like Cha Eun-woo is paying homage to Moonbin through Where Am I similar to his title track Stay.
