Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna will soon be sharing the screen for the first time in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The film, which was initially scheduled to hit theatres in August this year, was later postponed and will now be released on December 1. In a recent interview, the producer of the movie Bhushan Kumar opened up about the same and revealed why they decided to change the release date of Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
“Animal is a very good film that Sandeep has made. We will be releasing it on December 1. The date is final. We had to push the initial release because some work was left to be done on the movie,” Bhushan Kumar told India Today.
Kumar further cited Shah Rukh Khan’s recently released movie Jawan and explained that they plan to take the same route as far as Animal’s promotions are concerned. “If you see the advance booking for Jawan was huge in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh markets, which is the South market. My director, actors and heroine are from the South. ‘Animal’ is a pan-Indian film, so we are planning to do it in multiple languages, which is not just limited to dubbing in different languages. We want to promote it all over, like Jawan did,” he said.
The producer further revealed that Animal was also postponed because the film is a musical with eight songs in it. “So we have to dub the songs in different languages and it takes time to get the correct for Ranbir Kapoor in other languages including Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Hence, we postponed it and now we are very happy about the decision. So many films are now doing well in theatres. People are coming back. That’s a good sign for the box office,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, it is being said that the makers of Animal are planning to release the film’s trailer on Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday i.e. on September 28. However, there is no official confirmation of this as of now.
