New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar on Saturday arrived in Delhi as Opposition parties stepped up their demand for President’s rule in the state.
Reports say that Rajeswar will meet Home Minister Shivraj Patil next week and discuss the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.
UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday hinted that he didn’t like Rajeswar writing him a letter which said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe the serial murders in Noida’s Nithari village.
Yadav has ordered a CBI probe but the letter may affect his relationship with Rajeswar.
The opposition parties mainly Congress and BJP had been demanding imposition of President's rule from the Governor citing "poor law and order" in the state.
The Chief Minister has however claimed that the law and order situation in the state was better than the Congress ruled states of Delhi and Maharastra and accused them of politicising issues like serial killing of children in Nithari instead of expressing sympathies with the bereaved families.
