Congress Rahul Gandhi, who is currently on his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, was on Tuesday greeted with chants of ‘Modi-Modi’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Sarangpur. The Wayanad MP, however, replied with a flying kiss.
In a video, which is going viral on social media, Rahul Gandhi’s convoy can be seen passing through Sarangpur as the crowd of BJP supporters chant PM Modi’s name and Jai Shri Ram Slogans.

Amid the chants, Gandhi gets down from his vehicle to greet the crowd where several BJP workers were seen offering potatoes to the Congress leader. The Congress leader then smiles and shakes hands with the BJP leaders before going back to his car.
Rahul Gandhi is also seen giving a flying kiss to the BJP workers amid their constant sloganeering.
The potato stunt was in reference to a 2017 viral video of Rahul Gandhi in which he promised potato farmers that he would install a machine to convert potatoes into gold. However, the video turned out to be edited but it was widely circulated ahead of the Gujarat Assembly Elections.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, a mass outreach programme led by Rahul Gandhi ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, entered Madhya Pradesh from Rajasthan’s Dholpur district on March 2. After passing from Morena, Gwalior, Shivpuri and Guna, it reached Shajapur on Tuesday.
Later in the evening, the yatra reached Ujjain in MP, where Gandhi offered prayers at the famous Mahakaleshwar temple, one of 12 ‘jyotirlingas’ in the country. The yatra is scheduled to re-enter Rajasthan on Wednesday.
