Assembly polls in Orissa will be held together with the Lok Sabha polls.
Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will project a chief ministerial candidate in Orissa in the upcoming assembly polls, a party official said here Saturday. Assembly polls in Orissa will be held together with the Lok Sabha polls.
"Our central leadership is going to announce the name of the chief ministerial candidate," M.A. Kharabela Swain, deputy chief whip of BJP in the Lok Sabha, told IANS.
"I cannot tell you the name but you will come to know about it soon," Swain said.
Orissa will go to the twin polls for Lok Sabha and assembly in two phases on April 16 and April 23.
The party suffered a setback in the state when the Biju Janata Dal led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik snapped its 11-year-old tie with the BJP last week.
