NCP wants 7 LS seats in Gujarat
Talks between NCP and Congress over seat-sharing in Gujarat to begin.

Vadodara The talks between Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress over seat-sharing arrangements in Gujarat will begin soon after sealing of deal between both the parties in Maharashtra, NCP Gujarat chief said on thursday.

The NCP state unit wants to contest in seven Lok Sabha seats, for which the talks would be held once the seat-sharing formula for Maharashtra is settled, Jayant Patel.

NCP chief, said, "We want seven LS seats -- Bharuch, Anand, Dohad,Panchmahal (Godhra seat renamed after delimitation), Ahmedabad (East), Rajkot and Kutch. Anand is represented by former GPCC chief Bharat Solanki and Panchmahal (earlier Godhra) by Union Textiles Minister Shankersinh Waghela while Dahod, a reserved constituency, was won by BJP's Babubhai Katara who has shifted to Congress".

Patel, a sitting MLA from Sarsa assembly seat which falls in Anand Lok Sabha constituency, has expressed his desire to contest from Anand.
