Lucknow: The Election Commission has for the first time in the country's poll history prescribed an 11-point resume for all candidates in the Lok Sabha polls.
According to Uttar Pradesh's Chief Election Officer A K Bishnoi, "Every candidate will be required to fill up this 11-point form carrying basic particulars about him - including name, address, qualification, place of current and permanent residence, phone numbers, e-mail address along with website, if any.
"Such an exercise was being undertaken for the first time," he said.
Asked about the objective of the new format, he said, "It will enable the electors to get an idea about their prospective representatives."
He said the information given in the form would be made available to the public.
