New Delhi: A delegation of Samajwadi Party leaders is slated to meet President APJ Abdul Kalam on Tuesday to demand the recall of Uttar Pradesh Governnor, T V Rajeshwar.
They will also ask the President not to entertain the Central Government's plea of dismissing Mulayam's government in the state and establishing President's rule there instead.
"We are meeting the President on Tuesday to apprise him the whole situation in the state," Samajwadi Party General Secretary, Amar Singh, was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
On Sunday, another Samajwadi Party General Secretary, Ram Gopal Yadav had said that the party would ask the President to recall the Governor as he was acting with "malafide and motivated" intentions to dismiss the SP-led government.
There have been allegations - most by members of the Samajwadi Party - that the Governor has been planted by the Congress in the state to ensure the downfall of Mulayam Singh Yadav's government in the state.
There has been friction between Samajwadi Party and the Congress, ever since the Congress withdrew its support to the SP, just ahead of the Assembly polls in the state.
Congress members have termed Mulyam's government as immoral and illegal saying that the Chief Minister has no grounds on which to stay in power in the state.
