If you are bored of your regular glasses then you now have the option to opt for Snapchat Spectacles with prescription lenses. This means that the Snapchat Spectacles will now come with a medically prescribed lens, fit for your eyes, thanks to an American lens manufacturer Rochester Optical.
However, the catch here is there will be only one frame option to choose. Also read Snapchat Starts Selling Spectacles at Pop-up Vending Machines in New York City
“Rochester Optical will custom-cut lenses for your Snapchat Spectacles,” said the website. Users will have to provide a copy of their original prescription.
“Please note we need your monocular pupillary distance (PD) included on your prescription to complete your order. The PD is the distance between pupils in millimetres broken down into right and left measurements (e.g. 33/34), and we use it to properly align the lenses for the best visual acuity,” added the company. What is so special about the Snapchat Spectacles?
This is the very first hardware product of Snapchat. The glasses can record 10-second videos. It is armed with a camera with 115-degree angle lens and records up to 10 second “circular” video clips. To start recording, the user will have to tap a button near the hinge of the glasses. Each new tap records another clip. The videos shot by Spectacles sync wirelessly to smartphones for sharing.
It will available in Black, Teal or Coral colour options but in one size only.
