Now, if you are in USA, telecom carrier T-Mobile has come up with an offer that will somewhat give you an iPhone 11 Pro for free. The reason why we say ‘somewhat’, is because there are plenty of terms and conditions for you to match, before you can rejoice on your free new iPhone. To begin with, in order to claim the free iPhone 11 Pro, you have to switch over from a different carrier to T-Mobile, or in case of existing customers for the latter, have at least one person who will join T-Mobile through your reference.
Once you match this criteria, you have to then pay the full amount and buy Apple’s flagship smartphone at the moment, the iPhone 11 Pro. Once you buy the smartphone after procuring a new T-Mobile connection, the carrier will then pay you back each month in form of bill credits, for a total period of 24 months, or two years. As a result, you will be assigned $41.63 each month if you purchase the base storage variant of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro. By the end of two years, you would possible have made loads of calls and sent even more messages without spending a penny on communicating, thereby making back your money spent on the iPhone 11 Pro.
Since telecom plans are far more expensive in USA than India, the offer still makes sense. With T-Mobile USA, the basic single user postpaid plan costs $60, which would have meant that you would have paid a total of $1,440 over two years for your connection. With this offer, you will only be spending $441 over two years on talktime and messages, hence saving on the entire cost of the iPhone 11 Pro.
An offer like T-Mobile’s free iPhone 11 Pro may not really work in India, primarily due to telecom costs. In two years, Indians have the option of spending as low as about $70 – only slightly more than what T-Mobile charges users in USA each month – including unlimited calling and 2GB of 4G data per day.
It is, however, important to note that with 5G knocking on our doorsteps, you will likely want to upgrade to a 5G phone within the next two years. While the iPhone 11 Pro will remain a fantastic flagship phone even two years down the line, the lack of 5G support may pinch you in the due course of time. Apple is set to launch its first 5G iPhone, so far dubbed iPhone 12, within the next one month or two. While reports have suggested a delay in the launch date of the iPhone 12 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the device is largely expected to be on time.
