In a shocking revelation, a 16-year-old boy was admitted to a hospital after his health deteriorated after vaping. This revelation has garnered widespread attention among the public on social media. It has also become a matter of concern among the young generation who indulge themselves in various kinds of intoxication.
The boy was studying for his GCSEs. Initially, he was undergoing minute breathing problems including a bad cough, but little did he know that his condition would deteriorate this much. When he went for a check-up he was prescribed antibiotics for a chest infection, but within a few days, he started coughing up blood. The symptoms started when he became more lethargic, unable to get out of bed and also lost a lot of weight. He immediately rushed to the hospital and the doctors after treating the boy found out that his lungs had shrunken.
His mother Rebecca Chesworth said that he looked horrible as he stopped eating and drinking. His mother, who works as a word clerk, claimed that the night before he was set to return to school, his lungs collapsed while climbing stairs, which left him struggling to breathe. Rebecca acted quickly by calling a doctor who handles after-hours medical issues and then took him to the emergency department at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan for immediate treatment.
After admitting him to the hospital, the doctor did an X-ray and found out that he had pneumothorax, a condition where air gets trapped in the space between the lungs and the chest wall, which can result in a collapsed lung. A tube was inserted to drain the fluid from the lung. He remained in the children’s ward for four days. A short time later, the teenager again went back to the hospital as his other lung had collapsed and from there, he was transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital, where his family members found out that the reason for this condition was his continuous vaping.
His mother confirmed that Nathan has stopped vaping since his stay in the hospital.
