'Thank You So Much': Indian Woman Confronts Racism At Jason Derulo Concert In Albania

An Indian woman, Dr Pranoti Kshirsagar, recently shared her distressing experience of facing racism while attending a music festival in Albania. A video making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) revealed the woman’s frustration as she recounted her experience. Kshirsagar had attended a Jason Derulo concert in Tirana, Albania. In the video, she mentioned, “I am at a Jason Derulo concert in Tirana in Albania and I was waiting in the line. A group of four girls just came up, cut the line and when I pointed it out, they repeatedly told me to go back to my country.” She continued, “They laughed about it, called me their mother and made other remarks.”

Towards the end, she added, “I feel very welcome, Albania. Great job, thank you so much.”

As soon as the clip was shared online, users pointed out Albania’s history of “racism.”

A user wrote, “Albania is one of the most racist countries in the world.”

Another said, “That’s so funny because Albanians complain of discrimination & racism when they try to immigrate to the EU & UK.”

“That’s so sad, just ignore the mean girls and have fun,” a person added.

A user questioned, “When will racism stop?”

Some claimed that “Albania is not a place for tourism.”

Giving a shout out to the woman for her calm nature, a user said, “She confronted this very politely. She represented her country in a wholesome manner.”

Another added, “I feel bad for people who went through similar nonsense (in a time when they didn’t have mobile phones/social media) to come online and share their experiences with others. P.S: Racism of all/different kinds exists and anyone denying racism and saying it doesn’t exist in society is lying.”
