This Auto Driver Has The Perfect Reply To People Who Call Him ‘Bhayya’

Auto drivers’ sense of humour and social skills are often a topic of discussion nowadays on social media platforms. Many people encounter auto drivers who are friendly, talented, chatty, and even humorous. They make the ride more enjoyable, and this one that we have recently come across is as colourful as we have come to expect. Addressing autorickshaw drivers or cab drivers as bhaiya is something that comes very naturally to us Indians, but some Gen Z have extended it from ‘Bhaiya’ to ‘Bhayya’, which many get offended. So, an auto driver has come up with a savage solution to this problem.

Wondering, what did he do to tackle it? An X user who goes by the name Naya, shared a photo of a note that an auto driver put up on the back of a seat. The notice reads, “Keep Safe Distance…Pls…? Don’t say Bhayya. Call me Bhai, Dada, Boss, Brother.”

In just a day, the post went crazy viral, tickling the funny bones of viewers and giving them a good belly laugh. X users were stunned to see such an innovative idea and started guessing that this auto driver must be from either Mumbai or Bengaluru. Till now, the post has grabbed the attention of more than 91,000 viewers and has received over 2,000 likes.

An account remarked, “Bhaiya got some standards.”

Earlier, another Uber driver did something similar and wrote, “Don’t call me bhaya & uncle” on the back of a seat. However, his demand created a debate online and people started discussing how should they address people whom they don’t know. X users suggested from “boss” to “[name] ji” and “bro” that best suits them.
