WWE Friday Night SmackDown’s latest episode was hosted at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on January 19. With the Royal Rumble knocking at the door, AJ Styles, LA Knight, Randy Orton and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns were set to put pen to paper for their Undisputed WWE title on the show.
Numerous team matches were also advertised for the night including a title defence that would see Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defend their women’s tag championship against The Unholy Union. Styles would later compete against LA Knight in one-on-one actions whereas Orton faced Sikoa in the main event.
These are the results of all the fights on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown:
Legado Del Fantasma vs LWO
As the bell rings, Angel goes right after Carlito’s leg. Then Del Toro tags in and delivers a hurricanrana off the top rope to Angel. Soon we move into a break after which we see Escobar deliver a drop to Wilde’s face. Wilde manages to recover and lands a DDT on a tagged-in Humberto. He then tags Carlito in who flattens Humberto with a clothesline. He follows up with a backbreaker but Escobar makes a blind tag before rolling Carlito up for a pinfall victory.
Pretty Deadly vs Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate
Wilson and Bate begin the action for the second tag team match of the night. The duo lock up before Butch tags in and snaps Wilson’s fingers. After a commercial break, we see Wilson landing a gutbuster onto Bate. Butch tags in and targets Dunne’s fingers again. Bate comes back inside as he delivers a double-running enzuigiri to a now-legal Prince. Dunne goes for Prince’s fingers and then lands the Bitter End for the win.
Kayden Carter and Katana Chance (c) vs The Unholy Union for the Women’s Tag Team Championship
In the only championship match of the night Carter and Chance defend their SmackDown Women’s Tag Team titles against The Unholy Union. The match starts with Carter and Chance getting blindsided by Fyre and Dawn. Soon they manage to take control back as Carter and Chance put Dawn on the top rope but get pulled down by Fyre. Carter later lands a Candian destroyer before tagging Chance. They then together deliver the Keg Stand for the win.
AJ Styles vs LA Knight
The duo wastes no time as they go after each other just as the bell rings. Knight sends styles face first into the middle turnbuckle before landing a suplex and then firing off chops. Styles later lands several strikers before hitting a backbreaker. Knight recovers and lands a bodyslam before the duo takes action outside the ring. Solo Sikoa then interferes with the match by sneaking up on Styles and delivering a Samoan Spike on the superstar.
Randy Orton vs Solo Sikoa
The match begins with the duo exchanging some right arms as Sikoa delivers a Hip Attack to Orton in the corner and the pair move outside the ring. After a brief commercial break, we see Orton sending Sikoa to the announcers’ desk. The duo soon move inside the ring as Sikoa looks to hit his signature Samoan Spike on Orton. However, The Viper counters as he lands an RKO out of nowhere to pick up a victory.
