When someone else gets his magical tool, everything depends on Harold and his friends to use their creativity to save both worlds.

Talking about the movie, Harold and the Purple Crayon and the character, Zachary Levi tells People, “What was most fun was getting to fully commit to playing a character with that level of optimism and imagination oozing from his pores. Harold is nothing but light and I love that. The best thing about any cast and crew are the organic, genuine moments of human interaction that you get to have all day long. Especially the spontaneous singing and dancing parties while the music was flowing. I hope that families who watch the film are inspired by that optimism and imagination that spurs on more love, joy, peace that they take into their lives and the world as they leave the movie theatre."

Meanwhile, director Carlos Saldanha expressed his joy about working on the film and claimed that it was a delightful experience collaborating with each cast and crew. He further mentioned that the story is one of his favourite and he has read it to his kids countless times.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha, Other than Zachary Levi and Zooey Deschanel, Harold and the Purple Crayon also stars Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, Alfred Molina, Ravi Patel, Camille Guaty and Pete Gardner. The movie is scheduled to release on August 2.
