Education New Zealand, the government agency responsible for New Zealand’s international education, promotion and representation worldwide, organised the New Zealand Education Fairs India in the city on Saturday.
The fair provided a one-stop centre for students, parents, teachers, student counselors and working adults to access the latest information on New Zealand’s tertiary and postgraduate programmes. Fifteen leading institutes from across disciplines like engineering, management, hospitality, multimedia, biotechnology and information technology had a presence, giving students an idea of the various options they had.
This included the University of Canterbury, University of Waikato and Wellington Institute of Technology among others.
Grant McPherson, CEO, Education New Zealand, said, “We are looking forward to taking this association one step further and provide the young guns of India exciting and new opportunities in the field of higher education.”
He added, “The next big step has also been planned and the students will hear some good announcements by mid October 2012 during a government delegation visit to India.”
