Vaniyambadi MLA Kovi Sampath Kumar inaugurated a part time ration shop at Vijilapuram panchayat near Vallipattu in Vaniymbadi on Wednesday.
A part time ration shop had been on demand for the past 10 years by the locals since a similar outlet was removed from the panchayat owing to lack of space to run the shop. The residents of the panchayat were forced to travel up to three kilometers to access the nearest ration shop at Vallipattu.
Vaniyambadi MLA Kovi Sampat allotted `2.61 lakh to construct a new building for a part time ration shop.
