Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is one of the most awaited films. It will hit theatres on April 10 and will clash at the box office with Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan. In a recent interview, BMCM director Ali Abbas Zafar opened up about the box office clash and urged the audience to watch both films in theatres. He explained that the two films are very different from each other and argued that it is completely fine for them to release on the same day.
“I would request everyone to please go and watch Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan whenever you have time. It’s a long weekend. Two films can be released together. I feel we are two very different films and both films will offer the best to the audience so please go and watch it on this Eid,” the filmmaker told Pinkvilla.
Ali Abbas Zafar further urged people to support the film industry and added, “We want people to come to theaters, enjoy and support us as a filmmaking fraternity because we are all together in this. There’s no clash, there’s no negativity among ourselves. Our respect for each other is phenomenal because we all know that we have put in a lot of hardwork in making our films.”
The original Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was directed by David Dhawan. It starred Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in titular roles and was released in 1998. On the other hand, the new Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was announced in February 2023. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar and backed by Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films, the film promises to be the biggest blockbuster of 2024. Besides Akshay and Tiger, it also stars Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F in key roles.
On the other hand, Ajay Devgn will be essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim in Maidaan and will tell the story of this unsung hero who was responsible for taking Indian football to new heights and winning accolades for the country.
