Premalu has emerged as one of the stellar successes in recent times. This Malayalam rom-com movie stars actors Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Directed by Girish AD, this film has garnered praise from all corners. Now, it is all set for its OTT release as well.
Bhavana Studios revealed in an X post that the film will start streaming on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar on April 12. The poster attached to the post shows the cast of the film smiling for the cameras. Premalu was released at the cinemas on February 9 in Malayalam and Telugu.

The buzz for Premalu has amped up after there were reports that it had become the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. Mathew Thomas, Althaf Salim, Shameer Khan, and others have acted in this movie.
Director Girish’s popularity has witnessed an upward trend with his romantic dramas. While Thanneermathan Dinangal, his first film, focused on high school infatuations and amateur love, Super Sharanya, his second film, focused on the nuances of relationships in college.
On being asked by a media portal whether he fits into the genre of romantic comedies, Girish said, “I love crafting romantic comedies, particularly when I can incorporate multiple perspectives. I have made an effort to look into various characters’ personalities as well as their perspectives on relationships and love. Instead of overly romanticising my stories or characters, I show them to be flawed and immature.”
According to the Premalu director, at some point in their lives, everyone has experienced love. He added that even though it is not a novel process, every one of them will have a unique and remarkable experience that they will cherish for a lifetime. Girish further said that all he can do is do his best to approach these moments in a straightforward and relatable way through his films.
Girish is looking forward to the film I Am Kathalan headlined by the actor Nalsen and starring Dileesh Pothan, and Arshad Ali in the supporting roles. This film is currently in the post-production stage.
