CEO Says 'Indian Engineers Are A Different Breed' And He Has A Solid Reason
While the majority of us wouldn't give it a second thought before vanishing for a day or two, this workaholic did something we wouldn't think of in seven lifetimes.

We’ve all had the experience of feeling overburdened at work—the late nights spent attempting to meet deadlines, getting ready for a crucial presentation or delving into the never-ending to-do list. Many of us are so passionate about our work that it becomes part of who we are and how we see ourselves. Although having a passion for your profession is perfectly acceptable, issues can occur when you allow it to dictate how you feel and act. It’s almost like a Stockholm syndrome. The same was recently demonstrated by Roshan Patel, Founder & CEO of Arrow.

Patel uploaded a screenshot on X in which he asks the employee to take a day off, but claims that he does not require one.

Patel wrote, “Hey noticed you haven’t taken any time off in a while. Just checking in and definitely encourage you take a break if needed.”

Now, the majority of us wouldn’t give it a second thought before vanishing for a day or two, yet this workaholic did something that we wouldn’t in seven lifetimes. The employee stated, “I don’t need break sir. My body is a vessel for the company to find product market fit.”

The employee’s response is so pick-me, it’s almost unreal. Probably that’s why Patel captioned the post stating, “Indian engineers are a different breed.”

With 4 million views on the social media platform, the comments section swiftly did its job—criticising the approach.

A user humorously commented, “This is great. The quicker you realize the most important thing in life is delivering shareholder value, the quicker you’ll get ahead!”

Another user, also taking the humorous approach posted a picture that read, “My body is a machine that turns anxiety into B2B SaaS.”

A different user added, “This literally has me spinning rn. LMAO.”

Patel is the CEO and founder of Arrow, a business dedicated to streamlining healthcare payments. Patel graduated from George Washington University with a BS in mathematics and Vanderbilt University with an MS in finance. He is presently a mentor at Venture for America in addition to serving on the board of the Children’s Scholarship Fund.
