Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has found himself in the spotlight lately after his father aired grievances about their strained relationship in an interview. Anirudhsinh Jadeja, speaking to the Gujarati daily ‘Divya Bhaskar’, didn’t mince words when levelling serious accusations against Ravindra’s wife Rivaba Jadeja, a prominent BJP MLA representing the Jamnagar (north) seat in Gujarat. “I don’t know what magic his wife has done on him,” remarked the senior Jadeja during the interview. He went on to reveal that he no longer shares a residence with his son and has severed all contact, leaving cricket fans pondering over the intricacies of their familial bond.
Amidst this tumult, an old post (formerly known as a tweet) from the 35-year-old all-rounder has resurfaced, igniting a viral storm. The reason? The post itself holds the key. “‘One who touches his parents’ foot daily, He never faces the situation in his life to touch others’ foot,'” read the quote shared on November 4, 2012.

Consequently, in the wake of Jadeja’s father’s revelations, people couldn’t resist delving into this decade-old tweet, raising questions and casting doubts on his ‘ethical’ stance. “Kya hogya Bhai Aisa ab, kaha Gaya ye jaddu,” queried one user in the comment section. “This is the jaddu we all love. Kya hogya aapko ab?” echoed another. “Never Imagined a guy like you would go against his parents,” remarked the third, while the fourth expressed a wish, “I hope news fake hai.”

However, Jadeja did provide a clarification in the midst of the widespread controversy. “Let’s ignore what’s said in scripted interviews,” Jadeja stated in a note on X. The Indian all-rounder also appealed to his father to “refrain from tarnishing his wife’s image.”
“The things mentioned in the dubious interview with Divya Bhaskar are meaningless and untrue. It is a one-sided story, and I completely deny the allegations. The attempts made to tarnish my wife’s image are truly reprehensible and unbecoming. I, too, have much to say, but I won’t air it publicly,” the note written in Gujarati asserted.

For those curious about Jadeja’s father’s remarks, he was quoted as saying, “I don’t call Ravindra, and I don’t need him. He is not my father; I am his father. He is the one who should be calling me. All this brings tears to my eyes.”
Additionally, the father disclosed the genesis of their discord. “Immediately after their marriage, there was a dispute regarding the ownership of Ravindra’s restaurant. She (Rivaba) insisted on transferring the ownership of the restaurant to her name. This led to a significant altercation. His sister believed that he would handle matters henceforth and consented to sign,” he revealed.
